ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The LA KISS (1-9) earned their first win of the season, 52-40, over the Portland Thunder (3-7) in front of 7,345 fans at the Honda Center on Sunday afternoon.
In first game since going down with an injury in Week 6, quarterback Adrian McPherson passed for 240 yards and five touchdowns, three of which went to wide receiver Donovan Morgan. On the other side of the ball, Rayshaun Kizer
showed the form that made him a four-time All-Arena selection, earning
Riddell Defensive Player of the Game honors after corralling a pair of
interceptions and returning one for a fourth quarter touchdown.
Duane Brooks starred for the Thunder, totaling a game-high 252 all-purpose yards and two kickoff return touchdowns. Kyle Rowley
was given the start at quarterback for Portland, finishing the game
with 233 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions before being
relieved by backup Alex Carder midway through the third quarter.
