Soul to Host VooDoo on CBS Sports Network

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soul (3-4) host the New Orleans VooDoo (1-5) in “NET10 Wireless Arena Football Saturday” action this Saturday, May 10 at 6:00 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. Andrew Catalon, Sherdrick Bonner and Ari Wolfe will be on the call from the Wells Fargo Center.
New Orleans enters the game well-rested following a bye in Week 8 and looking to snap a five-game losing streak that dates back to 2005 against the Soul. Philadelphia will try to bounce back from a tough 57-65 divisional loss to the Pittsburgh Power last week.
VooDoo quarterback Kurt Rocco completed 24-of-37 passes for 281 yards and five touchdowns against the Orlando Predators two weeks ago. He has historically played well against the Soul, passing for 301 yards and seven touchdowns against Philadelphia last season. His top target in 2014 has been L.J. Castile, who has caught a touchdown pass in each of the last six games.
Philadelphia’s offense is propelled by a trio of playmakers in quarterback Dan Raudabaugh, fullback Derrick Ross and wide receiver Anthony Jones. Raudabaugh has played exceptionally well the last two weeks, tossing 14 touchdowns to just one interception, while Ross continues to be the gold standard for fullbacks in the AFL, sitting just 21 yards shy of becoming the first player in League history to record 2,000 career rushing yards. Meanwhile, Jones ranks ninth all-time with 214 career touchdown receptions.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Soul will look to increase their pass rush to force Rocco into poor throws. All-Arena defensive end Bryan Robinson has had a quiet season thus far, recording just 1.5 sacks on the year. The Soul will look for their top pass rusher to come alive against a relatively inexperienced VooDoo line. Veteran defensive back Rayshaun Kizer is also still in search of his first interception of the year. VooDoo defensive ends Xavier Brown and Mike Alston will attempt to rattle the League’s top offensive line unit. The Soul have allowed a League-low two sacks this season. Jack linebacker Alvin Ray Jackson will try to disrupt passing lanes, while defensive back Cameron McGlenn continues to be a ballhawk in the secondary, recording five interceptions in six games this season.
