ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Arizona Rattlers (4-1) rolled to their fourth win of the season with a dominating 68-30 performance against the LA KISS on CBS Sports Network Saturday night.
However, the excitement of the team's big win took a backseat to concern over the health of reigning League MVP Nick Davila, who left the game early in the fourth quarter with a leg injury. Davila was incredibly efficient in the first half, completing 19-of-22 passes including six touchdowns to four different receivers.
"We will get [Davila] back to our doctor and have him take a look at him. If he can't go, he can't go," head coach and general manager Kevin Guy said. "We have a lot of confidence in BJ [Coleman] and it's a team game."
LA came into the game with injury problems at the quarterback position, as Brian Zbydniewski got the start for Adrian McPherson, who was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week. The Rattlers defense made it difficult on Zbydniewski, who was sacked four times, including two by nose guard Anttaj Hawthorne. Zbydniewski was also picked off twice, once by Arkeith Brown and once by Jeremy Kellem. Kellem has now caught at least one interception in three straight games. The ballhawk also recovered a fumble in the contest.
