HAMILTON -- If it were up to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, they'd never have to leave their brand new home.
Zach Collaros threw for 171 yards and a touchdown, while Terrell Sinkfield racked up 109 total yards, as the Ticats downed the visiting Ottawa REDBLACKS 16-6, remaining perfect at Tim Hortons Field in the process.

With the win the Ticats improve to 7-8-0, and have a two-point lead over the Alouettes and Argonauts for top spot in the East Division standings.
All three teams entered Week 17 in a three-way tie for first place in the East with the Alouettes and Argonauts, set to face off on Saturday in Toronto.
The winner will join the Ticats atop the division standings, while the loser will be on the outside looking in on the playoff picture.

The early parts of the week’s opening matchup saw both offences take their time to gather their footing, with neither team doing much when in possession of the ball.

A pair of field goals by Justin Medlock – one from 22 yards out, and the other from 27 – along with a rouge gave the Ticats a 7-1 lead at the break.

In the first half, Burris completed five of his 10 passes for 76 yards, while Collaros was far more active, connecting on 12 of his 21 passes for 127 yards.

Both teams were ineffective on the ground in the opening 30 minutes, combining for just 62 yards, while Collaros leading the way with 41.

The first half also saw the Ticats lose receiver Andy Fantuz, who was ruled out by the team just prior to the beginning of the third quarter.

Details of his injury were not disclosed at the time, but TSN’s Matt Scianitti reported that it was a hamstring issue, and he was being kept out of action for precautionary reasons.

The start of the second half was much like the first, with the Ticats and REDBLACKS both failing to generate traction on the offensive side of the ball.

But with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Burris took a shot downfield intended for Wallace Miles, who was interfered with by Courtney Stephen, giving the REDBLACKS a fresh set of downs from Hamilton’s 21-yard line.

However, the drive would stall two plays later, forcing Maher to connect on a 28-yard field goal to cut Hamilton’s lead to just one.
Shortly thereafter, Hamilton's potent offence finally woke up from it's slumber. Collaros, who had thrown for 1,169 yards in his last four game, guided his unit on a five-play, 75-yard drive that was capped off by a seven-yard strike to Bakari Grant in the endzone for a major.
The drive was highlighted by a 43-yard scamper at the end of the third quarter by Terrell Sinkfield, which followed up a Collaros pass to Brandon Banks for a gain of 20.
Next week, the REDBLACKS will head home where they'll face off against the Montreal Alouettes. The Tiger-Cats, meanwhile, will travel down the QEW to take on the Argonauts in another critical East Division clash.
