Brampton wins tough contest against Allen, 4-2

The Brampton Beast and the Allen Americans were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Brampton made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.
No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tylor Michel at 4:40 of the third period.
After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Allen faces elimination next time out.
Matt Caruana had a great game for the Beast, netting two goals. Caruana scored on the power play at 16:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brampton and again while 18:25 into the third to make the score 4-2 Brampton.
Brampton stifled the Americans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Beast kept Allen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryan Pitton made 35 saves on 39 shots.
Brampton also got points from Michel, who also had one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Michael MacIsaac as well. In addition, Brampton received assists from Steve Makway, who had two and Steve Ward and Thomas Stajan, who contributed one each.
Brampton was unable to stop the Americans from sending pucks towards the net, and Allen eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.
The Americans were helped by Anthony Maiani, who finished with one goal. Maiani scored 15:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Greger Hanson picked up the assist. Allen additionally got points from Hanson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Bruce Graham and Jonathan Lessard, who each chipped in one.
The Beast's Kristofer Westblom stopped 41 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Brampton totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Beast ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Frank Littlejohn was ejected from the game. Allen incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
