The Arizona Sundogs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Missouri Mavericks on the way to a 4-3 win.
A goal by Paul McIlveen put Arizona up 4-2 in the third period, but Missouri pulled to within one on Tyler Currier's tally 17:34 into the third period.
With the win, the Sundogs evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.
McIlveen had a great game for Arizona, netting two goals.
The Sundogs forced the Mavericks goalie Shane Owen to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.
Others who scored for Arizona included Shawn Limpright and Kevin Baker, who each put in one. More assists for Arizona came via Mike Forney, Matt McCready, Bryan Cameron, Johan Ryd, Alex Tuckerman, and Brandon Coccimiglio, who each chipped in one.
Missouri relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Andrew Courtney, Colt King and Mike Ramsay took 18 of the team's 30 shots.
In addition, Missouri received assists from Trevor Kell, who had two and Matt Stephenson and Sebastien Thinel, who contributed one each.
Andrew Engelage rejected 27 shots on goal for Arizona. The Sundogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Owen recorded 38 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
