ANAHEIM, Calif. – The LA KISS (3-11) defeated the Spokane Shock (4-10), 34-28, Sunday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
LA held the Shock scoreless in the first half while KISS quarterback Danny Southwick connected with receivers Tom Gilson, Donovan Morgan, Tyrone Goard, and DeMarco Sampson for scores. Southwick completed 21-of-31 passes for 214 yards and four touchdowns in the game, while DeMarco Sampson led the KISS receiving effort with a six-catch, 60-yard performance.
Shock quarterback Warren Smith completed 8-of-19 pass attempts for 101 yards, and one interception in the first half before being relieved by backup Arvell Nelson. The J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Game completed 10-of-20 passes for 130 yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, helping the Shock to a 21-point rally in the second half. Anthony Amos led the Shock with seven receptions for 94 yards. Jabin Sambrano and Nick Truesdell added one receiving touchdown each.
