CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Gladiators have been assigned 2014 All-Arena defensive back Marrio Norman, the League office announced today.
Norman (6-1, 205, Coastal Carolina) earned First Team All-Arena honors after collecting a career-high 95.5 tackles and set a Gladiators franchise record with 12 interceptions last season before being scooped up by the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. The fourth-year pro played a key role in guiding Cleveland to a historic 17-1 regular season in 2014, headlining one of the hardest hitting secondaries in the AFL. In three seasons in the League, Norman has totaled 24 interceptions, including 19 with the Gladiators.
The former All-Big South selection recorded 53 tackles and five interceptions as a junior at Coastal Carolina in 2007. He saw action in five games as a senior due to injury, posting 14 tackles and one interception. Since turning pro, he has also spent time with the AFL’s Georgia Force and Orlando Predators.
