LAS VEGAS – The top five teams in the AFL Power Rankings remain unchanged this week, the League office announced today.
The top-ranked San Jose Sabercats (15-1) had a bye in Week 18, but watched their next opponent, the third-ranked Arizona Rattlers (13-3) defeat the LA KISS
(4-12) last night on ESPNEWS. The SaberCats and Rattlers rekindle their
storied rivalry this Friday night on CBS Sports Network in the annual
Arena Football Hall of Fame Game. San Jose can clinch home field
advantage with a win this weekend, which could be pivotal, as the
Rattlers have eliminated the SaberCats from postseason play each of the
last three seasons. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET Friday on CBS
Sports Network.The Philadelphia Soul (13-3) have already wrapped up home field advantage on the other side of the bracket. After a bye in Week 18, the Soul return home to host the New Orleans VooDoo (3-12-1) Sunday afternoon on ESPN3. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
Fresh off clinching a playoff berth in Week 18, the fourth-ranked Jacksonville Sharks (9-7) will look to keep the fifth-ranked Orlando Predators (10-6) from securing a second straight South Division title this weekend. The Sharks hammered the Tampa Bay Storm (6-10), 63-16, in Week 18 to position themselves within striking distance of the division-leading Predators. The battle between the intrastate rivals and playoff-bound squads is set for 7:00 p.m. ET Saturday night on ESPN3.
