Konrad Reeder netted a hat trick to lead Rapid City over the St. Charles Chill, 7-2. Reeder got on the scoresheet 4:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:53 into the second and at 18:17 into the third. Rapid City outdid its season average for goals scored. Rapid City averages 3.8 goals per game.
Rapid City also got points from Jesse Schultz, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Rapid City included Justin Faryna, Matthew Larke, and Kyle Stroh, who each put in one. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Tristin Llewellyn, who had one and Eric Giosa and Sean Erickson, who each chipped in two.
The 25 shots that St. Charles put on net surpassed the Chill's average of 20.3 shots per game this season. St. Charles relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 13 shots.
The Chill were led by Nicklas Lindberg, who dished out two assists.
Rapid City's Keaton Hartigan stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Rapid City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Linus Lundin rejected 23 shots on goal for St. Charles. The Chill incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
