The Tulsa Oilers' Adam Pleskach had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 10-8 win over the Allen Americans.
Pleskach's
first goal came 3:49 into the second period. He then added goals at
9:06 into the second, at 15:11 into the second, and at 16:11 into the
second. Tulsa led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Oilers' Todd Robinson's scored on the power play at 19:08 in the second period to put Tulsa up 8-4.
Allen's 13 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Americans let up five goals while on the penalty kill.
The
Oilers forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard
during the game, picking up 14 minors and three majors for 53 minutes in
penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Tulsa had
been spending in the box. The Oilers outdid their season average for
goals scored. Tulsa has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during
the current campaign. The Oilers relied on a core group of players for
most of their offense, as Pleskach, Robinson and Ben Gordon took 22 of the team's 41 shots.
Tulsa
additionally got points from Gordon, who also grabbed one goal and four
assists, Robinson, who also racked up two goals and five assists to
lead the team in points, and Michel Beausoleil, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Tulsa also had goals scored by Kyle Bochek and B Macaulay, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Macaulay Macaulay, Eric Tallent, Craig Cescon, and Brandon Coccimiglio, who each chipped in one.
Allen
racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and
four majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. The Americans had been
averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. Allen surpassed its usual
scoring output this season. The Americans average 3.8 goals per game.
Allen put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.7 it
averages per game.
The Americans were led by Alex Lavoie, who registered three goals and two assists. Allen also got points from Phil Fox, who also had one goal and two assists and John Snowden, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Allen included Kale Kerbashian, Spencer Asuchak, and Corey Tamblyn, who scored one goal each. In addition, Allen received assists from Gregor Hanson, who had two, Trevor Ludwig, who had three, and Garrett Klotz, Jarret Lukin, and Ross Rouleau, who contributed one a piece.
Shane Madolora made 27 saves for Tulsa on 35 shots. Bryan Pitton took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by David Brown who made 19 saves. Allen registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Americans, Darryl Bootland was ejected from the game.
