The Tulsa Oilers almost clawed their way back from a
three-goal deficit, but the Missouri Mavericks managed to pull out a 4-3
win in the end. Missouri led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Mavericks' Eric Castonguay's scored on the power play at 16:59 in the first period to put Missouri up 3-0.
The Mavericks were sparked by John-Scott Dickson, who finished with one goal. Dickson scored on the power play 3:32 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Missouri. Missouri had gotten the advantage when Tulsa's Eric Tallent was sent off for tripping. Trevor Kell picked up the assist.
The Mavericks was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play.
Missouri additionally got points from Mike Ramsay, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Matt Stephenson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Missouri received assists from Anders Franzon, Obi Aduba, Andrew Courtney, and Sebastien Thinel, who contributed one a piece.
The 40 shots that the Oilers put on net surpassed Tulsa's average of 29.0 shots per game this season.
Tulsa also got points from Ben Gordon, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Adam Pleskach also scored for Tulsa. More assists for Tulsa came via Kyle Bochek, Todd Robinson, Jarred Mohr, Brandon Coccimiglio, and Michel Beausoleil, who each chipped in one.
Joe Howe rejected 37 shots on goal for Missouri. The Mavericks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Oilers took out Shane Madolora after he had made nine saves and installed Ross MacKinnon in goal, where he finished with nine saves and the loss. Tulsa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
