Brampton downs St. Charles, 6-3

The Brampton Beast beat the St. Charles Chill, 6-3.
Brampton was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game the Beast had been spending in the box. Brampton bested its season scoring average. The Beast have scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Brampton capitalized on St. Charles' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. The 33 shots that the Beast put on net surpassed Brampton's average of 28.1 shots per game this season.
The Beast were helped by Brett Smith, who finished with one goal. Smith scored short handed 6:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brampton. Brampton was on a disadvantage when Steve Makway went off the ice for holding. Calin Wild provided the assist. Brampton additionally got points from Andrew Fournier, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Tyler Butler, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Wild, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brampton also had goals scored by Tylor Michel and Jason Pitton, who each put in one. In addition, Brampton received assists from Rob Collins, who had one and Matt Caruana and Scotty Howes, who contributed two a piece.
The Chill's offense rang up 31 shots on the Beast's net.
St. Charles was helped by Charles Lachance, who finished with one goal and one assist. Lachance scored on the power play 8:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brampton. Michael MacIntyre picked up the assist. Others who scored for St. Charles included Sean Muncy and Nicklas Lindberg, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Charles came via Justin Levac, who had two and Cameron Cooper and Dan Weiss, who each chipped in one.
Kristofer Westblom made 28 saves for Brampton on 31 shots. For the Beast, Matt Suderman was ejected from the game. Robert Moss took the loss and made 16 saves before being replaced by Linus Lundin who made 11 saves. The Chill totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-9 on the power play.
