Bryan Pitton stood on his head and made 37 saves to lead the Allen Americans to a 4-1 victory over the Missouri Mavericks. Allen was paced by Jonathan Lessard, who finished with one goal and one assist. Lessard scored 4:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen. Alex Lavoie picked up the assist.
The 30 shots that the Americans put on net surpassed Allen's average of 23.3 shots per game this season. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
Allen also got a goal from Tyler Ludwig as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Mike Berube, Brian McMillin, and Jonathon Zion, who contributed one a piece.
Missouri was held below its usual level of production. The Mavericks average 3.6 goals per game. Missouri's offense rang up 38 shots on the Americans' net.
The Mavericks were led by Sebastien Thinel, who scored the team's only goal. Thinel scored on the power play 5:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Missouri. A holding stick penalty on Spencer Asuchak had put Missouri on the power play. Mathieu Gagnon assisted on the tally.
Allen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Shane Owen rejected 26 shots on goal for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
