Missouri boosted by Owen's play in net, beats Quad City 2-1

Shane Owen had a standout game with 35 saves, and the Missouri Mavericks beat the Quad City Mallards 2-1.
Missouri was paced by Obi Aduba, who grabbed one goal. Aduba scored 9:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Missouri. Evan Vossen assisted on the tally.
The Mavericks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Quad City power plays.
Anders Franzon also scored for Missouri. In addition, Missouri received assists from Jeff Buvinow, John-Scott Dickson, and Colten Hayes, who contributed one a piece.
Quad City could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Mallards put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Quad City's defensemen bolstered the Mallards' offensive attack, as they bombarded Owen with 16 shots. Quad City's offense rang up 36 shots on Missouri's net.
The Mallards were led by Jeff Lee, who scored the team's only goal. Lee scored 11:15 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Vladimir Nikiforov picked up the assist.
The Mavericks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Quad City's Ty Rimmer stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Mallards incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
