A stellar performance between the pipes by Shane Madolora helped the Tulsa Oilers defeat Rapid City, 2-1. Tulsa was led by Chapen Lablond, who grabbed one goal. Lablond scored 16:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Drew Fisher provided the assist.
The Oilers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Rapid City power plays.
Kyle Bochek also scored for Tulsa. More assists for Tulsa came via Blair Macaulay, Craig Cescon, and Michel Beausoleil, who each chipped in one.
Rapid City was held below its usual level of production. Rapid City puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Rapid City's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 31.9 shots per game it averages.
Rapid City was led by Kyle Stroh, who scored the team's only goal. Stroh scored 2:29 into the third period to make the score 2-2.
Madolora recorded 37 saves for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rapid City's Tim Boron stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Rapid City incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
