The Tulsa Oilers could not hold down the Allen Americans, and Americans erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 6-5 win. Allen never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Americans fell behind 4-2 after a goal by Tulsa's Michel Beausoleil at 16:48 in the first period. Allen knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Ross Rouleau at 10:07 in the third period. The Americans netted the game winner at 11:49 in the third period on a goal by Rouleau.
Alex Lavoie was all over the ice for Allen, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Lavoie scored the first of his two goals at 6:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Spencer Asuchak assisted on the tally. Lavoie's next tally made the score 6-5 Allen with 8:11 left in the third period. Jamie Schaafsma picked up the assist.
The Americans stifled the Oilers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Allen outdid its season average for goals scored. The Americans average 3.7 goals per game.
Allen also got points from Schaafsma, who also had one goal and one assist and Jonathan Lessard, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Allen also got a goal from Gregor Hanson as well. More assists for Allen came via Tyler Ludwig, who had two and Daniel Tetrault, Dallas Ehrhardt, Kale Kerbashian, and Trevor Hendrikx, who contributed one a piece.
Tulsa's offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.4 shots per game it averages.
Tulsa additionally got points from Ryan Menei, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Adam Pleskach, who also registered one goal and one assist. B Macaulay also scored for Tulsa. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ben Gordon, who had two, Todd Robinson, who had three, and Nathan Lutz and Eric Tallent, who each chipped in one.
Mark Guggenberger took the win and made 20 saves before being replaced by Bryan Pitton who made eight saves. Allen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Oilers' Brad Fogal stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Tulsa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
