LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced the broadcast talent for ArenaBowl XXVIII on ESPN. Anthony Herron and Ari Wolfe will be in the broadcast booth at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California on August 29. Arena Football Hall of Famer, Sherdrick Bonner, will serve as the sideline analyst for the game. Kickoff for the championship game is set for 7:00 p.m. ET Saturday night on ESPN.
Wolfe has been an AFL broadcaster since the 1998 season and worked in some capacity at every ArenaBowl since 2002. He became the lead voice of Arena Football telecasts during the 2012 season and serves as a play-by-play announcer for preseason telecasts on NFL Network as well. Wolfe is also a news anchor for NFL Network Now updates, providing weekly coverage of the National Football League.  He has called AFL games on OLN, ESPN, NFL Network, CBS and CBS Sports Network. He also calls college basketball for ESPN and CBS Sports Network. Wolfe called Albany/Indiana Firebirds games from 1998-2003 and also served as a play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Soul from 2004-2008, as well as being the NFL preseason voice of the Minnesota Vikings from 2007-2011. During the 2008 season, Wolfe had his own column on ArenaFootball.com entitled "Wolfe's Den" and also called Olympic Table Tennis for NBC Sports for the 2012 London Olympics.
Herron starred at the University of Iowa as a defensive lineman and played five seasons in the NFL before playing and coaching over the course of five years in the AFL. He was the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator of the Tennessee Valley Vipers of af2 when they won the ArenaCup championship in 2008. Shortly after, Herron began more extensive work as a broadcaster. He became one of the lead game and studio analysts for the Big Ten Network and then joined NFL Network in 2010 as a football analyst for “Arena Football Friday”. Herron has been on every ArenaBowl broadcast since that season and also serves as a college football analyst for NBC Sports and Pac-12 Networks. He has served as an analyst both in the booth and on the sideline for Arena Football broadcasts on both CBS Sports Network and ESPN during the 2015 regular season.
Bonner was named the Greatest Quarterback in AFL History by the Silver Anniversary Committee in 2012 and has been featured on national AFL telecasts over the past four seasons as an analyst in the booth and on the sideline with NFL Network, CBS Sports, and ESPN Networks. This will be his fourth consecutive ArenaBowl as the sideline analyst. In addition to his AFL broadcasting duties, he also works as the lead Mountain West Football analyst for Root Sports. In his 15 seasons in the AFL, Bonner was a four-time All-Arena selection. He won two ArenaBowl championships as a player and was named MVP of ArenaBowl VII. Bonner was inducted into the Arena Football Hall of Fame in April 2013.
The San Jose Sabercats (17-1) will host the Jacksonville Sharks (10-8) in ArenaBowl XXVIII. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET Saturday, August 29 on ESPN. The winning team will be awarded the James F. Foster Trophy at the end of the telecast.
