RATTLERS: The Arizona Rattlers earned their fifth straight trip to the National Conference Semifinals after defeating the Spokane Shock, 72-41, last week… The Rattlers have been to the ArenaBowl four straight years… Arizona has not lost a playoff game since ArenaBowl XXIV in 2011… Arizona has eliminated San Jose from the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, including last year’s National Conference Playoff Game… They are 0-2 against the SaberCats in 2015…

HC Kevin Guy is 12-3 all-time in the AFL Playoffs…  He served as San Jose’s defensive coordinator in their last ArenaBowl championship in 2007 before leaving to become the head coach of the Rattlers the following season…

QB Nick Davila completed 26-of-43 passes for 315 yards and eight touchdowns without tossing an interception in last week’s win… Davila posted a season-low 66.07 quarterback rating in Arizona’s Week 19 loss to San Jose where he passed for 185 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick… He threw for 276 passing yards and eight touchdowns in the 2014 National Conference title game…

DE Cliff Dukes collected 2.5 tackles, broke up a pass and tallied a quarterback hurry against the Shock… He made half-a-tackle in last season’s semifinal… Dukes has recorded five tackles and a sack in two games against San Jose in 2015…

DE Mike McAdoo logged two tackles against the Shock… He was selected Second Team All-Arena after collecting a single-season Rattlers rookie record of 11 sacks in 2015… He has a fumble recovery and half-a-tackle against San Jose this season…

DE Marcus Pittman notched the team’s only sack last week… He did not record a statistic in Arizona’s playoff contest with the SaberCats a season ago… He made two tackles and registered a quarterback hurry in Week 6 but did not play in the teams’ last meeting…

NG Anttaj Hawthorne collected a solitary tackle in the AFL Quarterfinals… He recovered a fumble and recorded a pair of sacks in the 2014 National Conference Championship Game… Hawthorne has two tackles, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble in two games against the SaberCats this year…

MLB Tyre Glasper made 1.5 tackles in last week’s win… He was selected First Team All-Arena for the first time in his career after totaling a single-season franchise record of 11.5 sacks in 2015… He notched a sack and registered two quarterback hurries against the SaberCats in last year’s playoffs…

DB Jeremy Kellem tallied four tackles, two pass break ups and intercepted a pass against Spokane… He was named First Team All-Arena after finishing the regular season with a League-high 14 interceptions, tied for the third-highest single-season total in AFL history… He made six tackles and broke up a pass against San Jose last postseason… Kellem has recorded 9.5 tackles and three pass break ups in Arizona’s games with the SaberCats in 2015…

DB Marquis Floyd led the Rattlers with 6.5 tackles and broke up a pass last week… He also led Arizona with 9.5 tackles and an interception in 2014’s playoff game with San Jose… He ranks fourth in AFL history with 60 career interceptions and eighth with 609.5 career tackles… Floyd has the most tackles for the Rattlers in two games against the SaberCats with 11.5 this season…

DB Arkeith Brown made two tackles and broke up a pass in their win last week… He recorded 59 kickoff return yards on four attempts last week, as well… He logged 6.5 tackles the last time Arizona opposed San Jose in the postseason… He’s made four tackles combined in two games against the SaberCats this year…

SABERCATS: The San Jose Sabercats will return to the National Conference Championship game for a second straight season after defeating the Portland Thunder last week, 55-28… The 2015 San Jose Sabercats tied the 2014 Cleveland Gladiators for the best regular season record in the history of Arena Football at 17-1… The SaberCats have also set a new League record for most consecutive road victories with 10… San Jose is only the sixth team in AFL history and second team since 1992 to go undefeated on the road in a single-season… The SaberCats outscored their opponents by 22.2 points per game in 2015, the largest average margin of victory in AFL history… San Jose’s defense tied the League record for sacks in a season with 45 in 2015, marking the third time in the last four years the SaberCats have logged more than 40 sacks… San Jose has home-field advantage clinched throughout the remainder of the playoffs… The SaberCats hold a 20-18 advantage in the regular season series with the Arizona Rattlers but have been eliminated from the playoffs by Arizona each of the last three seasons…

AC Omarr Smith earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors in 2013 as the defensive coordinator for the Rattlers…

QB Erik Meyer completed 10-of-36 passes a week ago for 215 yards and five touchdowns against the Thunder… He has not thrown an interception in seven straight games, going back to the regular season… He was named Second Team All-Arena after completing 353-of-258 passes for 4,057 yards and 93 touchdowns against just six interceptions in 2015… His last National Conference Championship Game appearance came during his League MVP season in 2013 as a member of the Spokane Shock… Meyer has passed for 468 yards and has thrown 13 touchdowns without an interception in his two games against Arizona in 2015…

FB Odie Armstrong rushed for one yard on three carries and scored a touchdown against Portland… He played for the Arizona Rattlers from 2011-2013, earning two All-Arena nods… Armstrong has combined for five carries and 21 yards rushing against the Rattlers this year, all of which came in their Week 6 meeting…

WR Reggie Gray caught four passes for 36 yards receiving with two scores last week… He added 95 return yards on three kickoff attempts, including a return for a touchdown, in last week’s win… He was named First Team All-Arena after setting new single-season franchise receiving records with 162 catches for 1,695 yards and 44 touchdowns in 2015… He racked up 148 receiving yards and four scores against Arizona in last year’s playoffs… Gray has compiled 155 yards receiving and five touchdown receptions against the Rattlers in 2015…

WR Maurice Purify led the SaberCats with seven catches for 81 yards and scored once against the Thunder… He is a two-time All-Arena selection and three-time ArenaBowl champion, having won League titles with the Arizona Rattlers in each of the last three seasons… He caught 10 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns against his former team in Week 19…

WR Ben Nelson hauled in four passes for 50 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns against Portland… He has scored in six of the seven games he has played in this season, including last weekend’s playoff game… Nelson last played the Rattlers in the 2014 AFL Playoffs when he caught seven passes for 96 yards receiving…

WR D.J. Stephens reeled in four passes for 34 yards receiving last week, his first-ever playoff game… He has totaled 106 receiving yards and two scores against Arizona this season…

DE Donte Paige-Moss made two tackles, including a half-tackle for a loss, and broke up a pass against his former team last week… He racked up nine sacks in the regular season… He has 3.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery against Arizona in 2015…

NG Jason Stewart tallied half-a-tackle against the Thunder… He was named First Team All-Arena for a second straight season after leading all AFL nose guards with 10 sacks on the year… He is tied with Arena Football Hall of Famer Sylvester Bembery for 11th-place in AFL history with 42 career sacks… Stewart did not record a statistic before going down with an injury in last season’s National Conference Championship Game… He collected a tackle for a loss and two pass break ups against Arizona this year…

MLB Francis Maka notched two sacks against Portland last week… He was named Second Team All-Arena after leading the SaberCats with 11.5 sacks in 2015… He ranks seventh in AFL history with 46.5 career sacks… Maka logged 1.5 sacks and blocked a kick against the Rattlers in 2015…

JLB David Hyland made three tackles and picked off a pass in last week’s quarterfinal… He made a pair of tackles in their last postseason meeting with Arizona… Hyland has made 7.5 tackles and an interception against the Rattlers in Week 19…

DB Ken Fontenette led the SaberCats with 9.5 tackles, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble against Portland… He was named Second Team All-Arena after finishing the regular season as League’s leading tackler with 146.5 in 2015, the second-highest single-season total in AFL history… He leads San Jose with a career-high 12 picks this year… Fontenette has recorded 14 tackles, five pass break ups and an interception against Arizona this year…

DB Clevan Thomas broke up a game-high three passes and registered 1.5 tackles last week… He made three tackles and broke up a pass against Arizona in last year’s playoff meeting… Thomas has combined for five tackles and an interception in two games against the Rattlers this season…

DB Fred Obi recorded 6.5 tackles, a tackle for a loss and broke up a pass against the Thunder in his playoff debut… He led San Jose with 9.5 tackles and a pass break up in his only-ever game against the Rattlers in Week 19.
