GLADIATORS: The Cleveland Gladiators lost to the Philadelphia Soul,
33-48, last week in the first of back-to-back matchups with their
division rival… The Gladiators have been swept by Philadelphia in 2015
after sweeping the Soul last season… The Gladiators and Soul have met in
the playoffs twice with each team earning a victory… In both previous
playoff matchups, the winner of the Cleveland-Philadelphia game has gone
on to play in the ArenaBowl (Philadelphia, 2008; Cleveland, 2014)… QB Shane Austin completed a season-low 48.5 percent for 176 yards and three touchdowns against Philadelphia last week… He set the Gladiators single-season record for passing touchdowns with his 101st of the year in Week 20… He is the franchise’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 200 during his two-year tenure in Cleveland… His 682 passing attempts in 2015 represents the seventh-highest single-season total in AFL history, while his 416 passing completions are the 10th-most in League history… He has passed for 702 yards and 14 touchdowns with one interception to go along with three rushing scores against the Soul this season… He threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns with five interceptions against Philadelphia in last season’s playoff contest…
