JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that the team has reactivated defensive back Micheaux Robinson from injured reserve. By joining the active roster, Robinson becomes eligible to play in the Sharks’ ArenaBowl XXVIII matchup with the San Jose Sabercats.
The 32-year-old Robinson (5-9, 185, Otterbein) was placed on injured reserve at the conclusion of training camp prior to the start of the 2015 season. He is in his seventh season in the Arena Football league and sixth in Jacksonville. Most recently, Robinson started all 18 of the team’s games in 2014, totaling 82.0 tackles, 22 pass breakups and five interceptions.
A two-time All-Arena selection, Robinson is Jacksonville’s all-time career franchise leader in tackles (375.0), interceptions (33) and pass breakups (139). In 2011, he earned First-Team All-Arena honors after racking up 114.5 tackles, leading the League with 46 pass breakups and totaling 11 interceptions. Robinson first came to the Sharks for the franchise’s inaugural season in 2010. That year, he earned Second-Team All-Arena honors after leading the Sharks with 23 pass breakups and eight interceptions.
A native of Fostoria, Ohio, Robinson attended Otterbein University.
The Sharks also announced Tuesday that the team has placed defensive back Chris Smith on injured reserve. Following the transactions, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
