PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Thunder have reactivated wide receiver Jamar Howard from injured reserve, head coach Mike Hohensee announced Thursday afternoon.
Howard (6-4, 215, Central Missouri) exited the Week 5 contest in San Jose midway through the second quarter, following an 11-yard reception where he was hit into the wall by SaberCats defensive back Ken Fontenette. The leg injury required surgery, causing Howard to miss the last 12 games.
“Of course we’re excited to have Jamar back, especially if he can perform at the level he was prior to the injury,” Hohensee stated. “It’s been great to have his energy back in the meeting room, and on the practice field.”
Howard’s 45 catches for 610 yards through the first five games of the 2015 season ranked second in the Arena Football League for both statistical receiving categories at the time of his injury, while his 13 touchdowns had him tied for first.
