NOTES
SHOCK: The Spokane Shock finished their season 7-11, earning a wildcard spot in the National Conference following a 51-34 win in Week 20 over the Las Vegas Outlaws… The Shock are 1-2 against the Arizona Rattlers in 2015 but won their most recent meeting in July… Spokane’s last postseason game against the Rattlers came in the 2013 National Conference Championship…

QB Arvell Nelson completed 19-of-32 passes for 233 yards and four touchdowns with an interception last week… He added eight rushing yards and a rushing score in the win… He was also sacked three times last week and has now been sacked 12 times in his last six games… This will be the first time he will play quarterback in the postseason, after having played in the 2013 and 2014 playoffs as a linebacker for the Shock and Pittsburgh Power, respectively… Nelson passed for 259 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for two more in the team’s win over the Rattlers last month…

WR Anthony Amos did not record a statistic last week… He finished the season as Spokane’s leader in receiving yards (1,205) and receptions (110) and was second on the team with 19 touchdown catches… This will be his first career playoff action… He has totaled 236 receiving yards and three touchdowns in two games against Arizona this year…

WR Nick Truesdell caught three passes for 29 yards and a touchdown in Week 20… He had recorded a touchdown reception in 10 straight games prior to last week’s performance but still finished the season as the team’s leader with 23 touchdowns… This will be his first-ever playoff appearance… Truesdell has totaled 125 receiving yards and five touchdowns in two games against the Rattlers this season…

WR Rashaad Carter hauled in four passes for 47 yards and a touchdown against the Outlaws… He caught eight passes for 85 yards and a pair of touchdown catches in last year’s playoff game against San Jose… He has 135 yards receiving on 11 catches against Arizona in 2015…

WR Jabin Sambrano led the Shock with 126 receiving yards and three touchdowns on eight catches last week… This will be both his first career playoff game and the first time he opposes the Rattlers…

DE James Ruffin made 1.5 tackles and notched a sack-safety last week… He finished the season as the Shock’s leader with 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries... He missed last season’s playoffs but played in 2013, tallying 1.5 sacks in two games… Ruffin has collected four tackles, forced a fumble, and registered one sack in three games against the Rattlers this season…

DE Derrick Summers made half-a-tackle against Las Vegas… He ranks second on the team with 8.5 sacks this season… He broke up a pass and tallied 1.5 tackles in the Shock’s only playoff game in 2014… Summer has recorded six tackles, three sacks and two blocked kicks against Arizona this year…

NG Terrance Taylor did not record a statistic last week… He made 1.5 tackles in last year’s playoffs… Taylor logged one tackle, one sack, one forced fumble and a blocked kick in two games against the Rattlers this season…

JLB Kevin McCullough recovered a fumble and recorded five tackles in last week’s win… He last played in the playoffs in 2012 while a member of the Rattlers… McCullough has totaled 4.5 tackles and an interception in two games against his former team in 2015…

DB Mike McMillan made five tackles in Week 20… This will be his first-ever playoff game… McMillan collected eight tackles and two picks against the Rattlers in July…

DB Sergio Gilliam broke up a pair of passes and made 1.5 tackles against the Outlaws… He made one tackle for the Pittsburgh Power in last season’s playoffs… Gilliam has 8.5 tackles against the Rattlers this year…
RATTLERS: The Arizona Rattlers defeated the Portland Thunder, 67-39, in Week 20… The Rattlers clinched their fifth straight West Division championship in Week 14… No other team in AFL history has won a division five years in a row… Arizona has not lost a playoff game since ArenaBowl XXIV in 2011…

HC Kevin Guy is 11-3 all-time in the AFL Playoffs… He has head coached the Rattlers to four straight ArenaBowl appearances and three consecutive championship wins…

QB Nick Davila completed 18-of-26 passes for 165 yards and five touchdowns last week… He passed for 760 yards, 21 touchdowns and two interceptions in three postseason games last year… He was named MVP and the Offensive Player of the Game in ArenaBowl XXVII… He began his Arena Football career with the Spokane Shock in af2… Davila passed for 601 yards, 11 touchdowns and threw two picks in two games against the Shock this year…

FB Mykel Benson rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries against the Thunder… He rushed for 10 yards and two scores in 2013 as a member of the Orlando Predators in his last playoff appearance… Benson has compiled 40 rushing yards, 44 receiving yards and six total touchdowns in three games against the Shock this season…

WR Rod Windsor hauled in eight passes for 95 yards receiving and three scores in Week 20… He has caught a touchdown pass in 29 consecutive games played… He is now the Rattlers’ all-time leader in receiving yards with 9,231 for his career… He finished the season six receiving touchdowns shy of Arena Football Hall of Famer Randy Gatewood’s career franchise record of 214… In last year’s postseason, Windsor caught 22 passes for 343 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns… He has racked up 246 receiving yards and four scores in two games against Spokane in 2015…

WR Kerry Reed caught five passes for 21 yards and a touchdown against Portland… He recorded 176 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 14 receptions in the 2014 AFL Playoffs… Reed has 102 yards receiving and three touchdowns in two games against the Shock this year…

WR Dan Buckner led Arizona with 113 yards receiving on 10 catches in Week 20… This will be his first-ever playoff appearance… Buckner caught two passes for 17 yards and a score in the last game against Spokane…

DE Cliff Dukes made half-a-tackle last week… He made 6.5 tackles and notched one sack in last year’s playoffs… Dukes tallied 6.5 tackles and a sack in three games against the Shock this season…

DE Mike McAdoo registered two sacks and three quarterback hurries against the Thunder… He finished the season with 11 sacks, a single-season Rattlers rookie record and the most among AFL rookies… This will be his first-ever playoff appearance… McAdoo has 7.5 tackles and three sacks in two games against Spokane this year…

NG Anttaj Hawthorne blocked a kick last week… He collected two sacks in the 2014 AFL Playoffs… Hawthorne totaled eight tackles and a pair of sacks against Spokane in 2015…

MLB Tyre Glasper made three tackles and a sack in last week’s win… He set a new single-season franchise record with 11.5 sacks in 2015… He logged two tackles and a sack in the 2014 AFL Playoffs… Glasper has 5.5 tackles, half-a-sack, a blocked kick, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery against the Shock in 2015…

DB Jeremy Kellem intercepted a pass and collected 2.5 tackles and three pass breakups last week… He finished the regular season with a League-high 14 interceptions, tied for the third-highest single-season total in AFL history… He led the Rattlers with 22 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three picks in the 2014 AFL Playoffs… Kellem has logged 25 tackles, two interceptions a fumble forced and recovered against Spokane this year…

DB Marquis Floyd recorded 5.5 tackles and three pass break ups against the Thunder… He ranks fourth in AFL history with 60 career interceptions and eighth with 609.5 career tackles… He made 19 tackles and intercepted a pair of passes in last season’s playoffs… While opposing the Shock this season, Floyd has nine tackles and an interception…

DB Arkeith Brown collected one tackle, a pass breakup, and a kickoff return for a touchdown last week… He was third on the team with 14 tackles and a tackle for a loss in three playoff games in 2014… Brown intercepted a pass and tallied nine tackles against Spokane in 2015.
