Thomas Frazee netted a hat trick to lead the Quad City Mallards over the St. Charles Chill, 7-3. Frazee notched his first tally 7:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:26 into the first and at 5:38 into the third. By firing 30 shots on goal, Quad City exceeded the 25.8 shots it averages per game this year. The Mallards' goal total was higher than their season average. Quad City has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.
Quad City also got points from Michael Monfredo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Quad City also got a goal from Justin Fox as well. More assists for Quad City came via Nicholas Rioux, Jeff Lee, Gergo Nagy, and Nick Grasso, who each chipped in one and Jordan Mayer, Mike Stinziani, and Matt Boyd, who contributed two each.
St. Charles' offense was clicking better than usual and put 25 shots on goal during the game, better than the 18.8 shots per game it averages.
The Chill were helped by Britt Ouelette, who registered one goal. Ouelette scored 5:15 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Quad City. Kyle OKane picked up the assist. St. Charles additionally got points from John Snowden, who also had one goal and one assist and Charles Lachance, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Charles received assists from Nicklas Lindberg, who had one and Martin Hlinka, who had two.
Thomas Heemskerk rejected 22 shots on goal for the Mallards. Quad City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Linus Lundin recorded 23 saves for St. Charles. The Chill incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
