Matt Williams gave the Brampton Beast a 3-2 (OT) victory over Rapid City when he scored 1:19 into the extra period. Brampton was led by Williams, who tallied one goal.
Brampton also had goals scored by Scott Howes and Calin Wild, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brampton came via Matt Caruana, who had two and Dan Milan, Andrew Fournier, and Jason Pitton, who each chipped in one.
The 36 shots that Rapid City put on net surpassed Rapid City's average of 26.0 shots per game this season.
Rapid City was helped by Scott Wray, who racked up one goal. Wray scored 1:00 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Rapid City. Sean Erickson assisted on the tally. Rapid City also got a goal from Jared Brown as well.
The Beast's Kristofer Westblom stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Brampton totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Wayne Savage rejected 22 shots on goal for Rapid City. Rapid City totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
