Arizona uses big second period to beat St. Charles, 5-1

The Arizona Sundogs scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the St. Charles Chill and clinch a 5-1 win.
Arizona was led by goalie Andrew Engelage, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Engelage managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.44 prior to the game.
The Sundogs were paced by Brandon Coccimiglio, who finished with one goal and one assist. Coccimiglio scored 5:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Arizona. Matt McCready assisted on the tally.
Arizona's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Charles power plays. The Sundogs surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Arizona averages 2.9 goals per game. The Sundogs' offense was clicking better than usual and put 48 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.6 shots per game they average.
Arizona also got points from David Rutherford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Arizona also got a goal from Shawn Limpright as well. More assists for Arizona came via Jason Morgan, who had two and Bryan Cameron, Mark Isherwood, and Kevin Baker, who each chipped in one.
By firing 27 shots on goal, St. Charles exceeded the 19.2 shots it averages per game this year.
The Chill were led by Jordan Fox, who dished out one assist.
Arizona incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. St. Charles' starting goalie, Linus Lundin, made 27 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Robert Moss, who stopped 16 shots. The Chill incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
