Missouri vanquishes Rapid City in shootout, 5-4 (2-0 SO)

John-Scott Dickson scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Missouri Mavericks picked up the extra point in a 5-4 (2-0 SO) win over Rapid City.
The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Missouri's other shootout goal was scored by Dickson. Dickson was a peerless playmaker for the Mavericks, as he dished out three to beat Rapid City,.
In a losing effort, Rapid City was led by Anthony Perdicaro, who finished with two goals and one assist. Perdicaro scored the first of his two goals at 13:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. Winston Day Chief provided the assist. Perdicaro's next tally made the score 4-3 Rapid City with 11:04 left in the third period.
Missouri's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Rapid City power plays. The Mavericks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
Missouri was led by Dickson, who dished out three assists.
Rapid City got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
Others who scored for Rapid City included Riley Weselowski and Sean Erickson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Rapid City came via Jared Brown, Justin Faryna, Eric Giosa, and Kevin Harvey, who contributed one each.
Shane Owen recorded 25 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tim Boron made seven saves before being replaced by Wayne Savage, who took the otl and made 15 saves. Rapid City incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
